Battlefield 5 reveal date detailed by Battlefield 1 easter egg

Battlefield 5 reveal date of 23 May has been detailed by a crazy Battlefield 1 easter egg.

The ridiculously complicated easter egg — we’ll let a YouTube vid do the explaining — eventually leads players to an EA site called “Never be the Same”. That site is simple enough, listing a date of 23 May alongside a #Battlefield hashtag.

Previous Battlefield games have been revealed in May before an eventual November release, so this isn’t that surprising.

Rumours suggest that the next Battlefield title will be called Battlefield 5 and take place in World War II. Further rumours say that Battlefield 5 will sport a battle royale mode.

We’ll report back as more is known.
