Australian PlayStation Plus subscription pricing increased by up to 11%

And it all starts next week.

Australian PlayStation Plus subscription pricing will skyrocket by up to 11% from next week, Sony has recently confirmed.

Blaming this recent batch of price increases on “global market conditions,” Sony said the new rates will allow it to “continue offering high-quality games and value-added benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription”.

New pricing, detailed, below, will go into effect from 16 April for new subscribers. Those on renewing plans will get stung by the increases from 24 June.

New Australian PlayStation Plus subscription pricing

PlayStation Plus Essentials

  • 1-month: $12.95 AUD (previously $11.95 AUD; 8% increase)
  • 3-month: $35.95 AUD (previously $33.95 AUD; 6% increase)
  • 12-month: $102.95 AUD (previously $95.95 AUD; 7% increase)

PlayStation Plus Extra

  • 1-month: $20.95 AUD (previously $18.95 AUD; 11% increase)
  • 3-month: $59.95 AUD (previously $54.95 AUD; 9% increase)
  • 12-month: $187.95 AUD (previously $169.95 AUD; 10% increase)

PlayStation Plus Deluxe

  • 1-month: $23.95 AUD (previously $21.95 AUD; 9% increase)
  • 3-month: $70.95 AUD (previously $63.95 AUD; 11% increase)
  • 12-month: $214.95 AUD (previously $196.95 AUD; 9% increase)

Other impacted regions include Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay. In those regions, 12 months of Essential will increase to $64.99 in local currency, and PlayStation Plus Deluxe will increase to $124.99 in local currency.
