August Xbox One update to include 3D Blu-ray support, remote purchase and download

There are a ton of goodies in the August Xbox One update, including 3D Blu-ray support, remote purchase, remote download and expanded social features.

First up, the update will allow for automatic download of content purchased on SmartGlass or Xbox.com. For those worried about download quotas, the feature needs to be turned on before it will act.

Socially, gamers will have the ability to like posts by others, including but not limited to text posts, game clips and activity. The Friends app will be expanded to highlight your mates.

The update will add support for 3D Blu-ray discs, OneGuide for Brazil, Mexico, Austria and Ireland and a low-battery notification.

The update will go out to preview users this week, followed by a formal release next month.
