August 2020 PlayStation State of Play to focus on PS4, PSVR

The August 2020 PlayStation State of Play has been announced, focusing on PS4 and PSVR titles rather than first-party PS5 offerings from Sony itself.

“Returning this Friday, the upcoming State of Play will focus on third-party-published games coming to PS4 and PS VR, along with a few PS5 game updates on third-party and indie titles shown in June’s PS5 showcase,” Sony advised.

“Just to be super clear — there will be no PlayStation Studios updates in Friday’s episode,” Sony’s update continued. “There won’t be any updates around hardware, business, preorders, or dates either. On Friday, the focus is squarely on showcasing some cool upcoming games coming to the broader PlayStation ecosystem.”

The livestream kicks off at 6.00 am AEST this Friday, 7 August, and will run for approximately 40 minutes on both Twitch and YouTube.
