Apex Legends nerfs weapons, will soon change hitboxes

Apex Legends has nerfed two weapons and will soon make changes to characters’ hitboxes, developer Respawn has recently detailed.

The weapons in question are the Wingman and the Peacekeeper. Respawn has tweaked the former by reducing its rate of fire, moving the Wingman into “the hand cannon space and away from full auto Deagle.”

The Peacekeeper has had its rate of fire adjusted when the Shotgun Bolt attachment is affixed in order to make players more vulnerable if they miss their shots.

Finally, in relation to weaponry, Respawn said it has upped the availability of both energy weapons and energy ammo.

Moreover, Respawn says it will adjust hitboxes on large-rig characters Caustic, Pathfinder and Gibraltar, reducing and optimising them so they’re comparable to small- and medium-rig ones. While weapon tweaks are now live, Respawn hasn’t released the hitbox fixes yet as they want to ensure balance.

Apex Legends is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. A new character, Octane, has been rumoured for the free-to-play battle royale.
