Anthem scaling bug makes you more powerful with less gear

An Anthem scaling bug has been discovered, making freelancers more powerful by removing certain items of gear from their builds.

Essentially, Anthem calculates your damage by averaging the items you’ve equipped. With that in mind, players who equip their highest level gear only and remove lower level gear from appropriate slots will find their damage goes up. Yikes.

“As one poster figured it out – this means if you equip ONLY legendary items you will basically do most damage with ult/combos/melee/procs,” Redditor Gaidax wrote. “Technically – you can like equip only one legendary item and nothing else and wreck, but of course that’s not very feasible due to HP and some components being good as is.”

Like a bug that caused a level 1 rifle to become the most damaging in-game, BioWare is likely to patch this issue as quickly as possible.

Anthem is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
