Anthem patch to fix PS4 crashes, overpowered rifle

A special Anthem patch will fix its PS4 crashes alongside a peculiar weapon power issue next week, BioWare has advised.

BioWare used a livestream to confirm it has identified “several causes” for the issue on PS4 that causes the game to crash the console. The patch correcting this will be available from 12 March.

The studio was careful to point out that it has found zero occurrences of the game bricking a PS4 console, despite initial claims on Reddit earlier in the week.

The patch will also fix an issue across all platforms that overpowered the Level 1 Defender rifle. A current bug means said weapon is basically the most powerful in the game (so take advantage of it while you can?).

Anthem is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
