Animo is the cosiest of cozy games, planned for 2026

Take a look!

Animo was today revealed at the Xbox Summer Game Fest livestream, described as “a ground-breaking open-world ARPG”.

“Players are invited to join in the exploration of a living and dynamic world, and meet the magical Aniimo that inhabit it,” Microsoft said on its blog.

“Instead of waiting for someone else to create their dream game, the Aniimo team did it themselves. Travel across a beautiful new world, meeting, learning about, and capturing the Aniimo that inhabit it. Battle Aniimo in real-time, or use the Twining system to become an Aniimo, and experience the game in a whole new way.”

“As a Pathfinder, you’ll begin your journey in Idyll, a dynamic, interactive and expansive open world! There, you can collect, evolve, and twine with magical creatures called Aniimo,” reads a description attached to the game’s trailer, above. “Get ready to explore uncharted landscapes and mysterious dungeons, battle in real-time PvE and PvP combat, solve ancient puzzles, and master a truly dynamic gameplay experience.”

A closed beta test for the title was also announced — interested parties can fill in this form to be considered for access.

Developed by FunPlus and published by Kingsglory, Animo is planned for a 2026 release on Windows PC via the Microsoft Store, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, iOS, Android, and via Xbox Game Pass.
