Alan Wake publishing rights are back with Remedy

Remedy has confirmed it now owns the publishing rights to Alan Wake, an IP that once sat with Microsoft.

“Yes, [Remedy Games] now owns the publishing right to [Alan Wake],” Remedy’s Sam Lake said via Twitter.

Afterward, a Remedy spokesperson added that “the only thing that we want to clarify, now that Remedy owns the publishing rights, is that we could bring Alan Wake to different platforms if we so choose.”

Alan Wake and its sequel, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare are both currently available on Windows PC and Xbox 360 (and Xbox One via backwards compatibility). We’ll keep you up to date if Remedy confirms new, current- or next-gen releases of Alan Wake.

Remedy’s next game, Control, heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 27 August, published by 505 Games.
