Alan Wake 2 gameplay looks lit (get it?)

New gameplay has been showcased at Summer Game Fest.

Raw, unedited Alan Wake 2 gameplay was today shown off as part of Summer Game Fest.

In it — which you can watch for yourself below — we follow new protagonist Saga Anderson as she investigates a dark, atmospheric forest.

We get to watch as Anderson’s flashlight paints a way forward, and then turns into an offensive weapon as she encounters the Taken. The same deer-headed behemoth that featured in a recent reveal also rears its ugly head here.

Simply put, the gameplay is very Alan Wake, but most importantly — extremely modern. Familiar Alan Wake elements were also joined by new, investigatory stuff; fitting, due to Anderson’s role as an FBI agent.

Take a look at the gameplay and let us know what you think of it!

Alan Wake 2 heads to Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PS5 on 17 October 2023.
