Age of Mythology, Age of Empires 2 PS5 releases confirmed by Xbox

More is heading over to Sony's console.

The next two of Xbox’s former console exclusives heading to PS5 are Age of Mythology and Age of Empires 2, Microsoft has today announced.

Age of Mythology Retold is a remaster of the 2002 original strategy game, and is planned for release on PS5 on 5 March. PS5 availability comes alongside the title’s Immortal Pillars expansion, which also heads to PC and Xbox that same day.

Immortal Pillars, the highly anticipated first expansion for Age of Mythology: Retold, invites you to harness the power of ancient Chinese mythology,” Microsoft said of the expansion. “Discover a world where gods, monsters, and legends collide in an epic new chapter of mythical strategy. This groundbreaking expansion brings a wealth of new content, allowing you to explore the rich mythology of China like never before. Take command of the gods, build your empire, and rewrite the legends of old.”

From PS5’s launch date, all Age of Mythology Retold‘s updates will be release on all platforms simultaneously, “and players will be able to play together,” Microsoft also confirmed.

Later this year, in the Australian autumn, Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition will debut on PS5. The PS5 release come alongside all other expansions available on Xbox and PC.

Microsoft’s latest announcement comes after word that Forza Horizon 5 will head to PS5 as well.
