A new Shinji Mikami game likely to be announced at E3 2019

It’s likely that a new Shinji Mikami game will be announced at E3 2019.

Mikami, known as the grandfather of the survival horror genre thanks to Resident Evil, took to Twitter to advise he was heading to E3 “for work” and not pleasure. That’s enough for fans of the genre, who hope he’s there with Tango Gameworks to announce The Evil Within 3 or a new IP altogether.

As a rabid fan myself, I can remember the delight I felt when I saw Mikami at a Bethesda event during the same E3 he announced The Evil Within IP. It was delicious.

As Tango Gameworks is a Bethesda studio, it makes sense that a Mikami announcement wil take place during the publisher’s E3 2019 press conference. That’s scheduled to start at 10.30 am AEST on 11 June. On a slightly depressing note, there’s the chance the Tango Softworks team is supporting another studio with their own title.
