343 Industries is showing something at E3 2017, but it’s not Halo 6

Don’t expect Halo 6 to be shown at E3 2017, 343 Industries has advised, also indicating it’ll have something else to show off instead.

343’s Brian Jarrard took to Reddit with the news, saying the developer will have “a little something at E3” to demo.

“It’s not related to the next major entry in the franchise,” he continued.

343 recently teamed up with The Creative Assembly for Halo Wars 2, so we could be getting DLC for that title, or perhaps even a PC release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection or Halo 5: Guardians. Regardless, there’s not long to wait — E3 2017 takes place over 14-16 June at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California, USA. Microsoft’s press conference is scheduled for 7.00 am AEST on Monday, 12 June.

Last month, 343 admitted that it tried too much in Halo 5: Guardians, detracting from series protagonist Master Chief with the introduction of Spartan Locke and two full teams of Spartans.

“We took some digs for storytelling in Halo 5, but they were absolutely merited. We very much realized that people wanted Master Chief’s story of Halo 5,” 343’s Frank O’Connor said.

We’ll have more on whatever 343 is planning as it’s known.
