The Devil in Me guide: How to save Charlie

And get the Phoenix Achievement or Trophy.

The Devil in Me is out now and tasks you to keep a core crew of five alive. This guide will tell you how you can save Charlie from a particularly grim demise.

Needless to say, spoilers follow — read at your own risk.

In the checkpoint Ignition, Charlie ends up in an incinerator with little chance for escape. The picture above? It has nothing to do with the situation he’s in; we’re not monsters ruining EVERYTHING.

Keeping Charlie alive is relatively simple: whenever you have the chance to pry away the grate on the floor, do it. That’s Charlie’s only chance at escape. Doing so will also earn you the Phoenix Achievement or Trophy for your effort.

The Devil in Me is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5. We reviewed it here.

Steve's the owner and Editor-in-Chief of Stevivor.com, the country’s leading independent video games outlet. Steve arrived in Australia back in 2001 on what was meant to be a three-month working holiday before deciding to emigrate and, eventually, becoming a citizen.
