Starfield guide: How to get the Mark 1 suit, helmet and pack

Here's how to get some high-level stuff early on.

Starfield is out now, and clever space adventurers have found a way to secure some high-level gear pretty early on, and with little fuss.

First detailed by Reddit’s zrkillerbush, this little trick requires access to the planet Jemison, and specifically, Constellation’s Lodge headquarters.

If you’ve gotten to that point in the story, simply return to the Lodge, head downstairs, look for the room with a painting hanging up and then check in the corners of that room for a Mark 1 spacesuit, helmet and pack in the corner of the room.

From there, you’ll need to look at the seams in the case and move your cursor around, slowly, until you can essentially access the mannequin that’s locked behind them. Rather than upgrading your lockpicking skill to open the case, using that crack means you’ll get access straight away.

If that doesn’t make sense, here’s a quick video of how you access the suit through the case. Our advise is to be patient and make slow moves. If you’re not able to get to the mannequin, reposition yourself and try again. All up, it only took us a minute or two to find the sweet spot.

Since you’re in the Lodge, make sure to then speak with Noel if you haven’t already; she’ll give you your very own room and that includes a locker with unlimited storage space. You’re welcome!

Starfield is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X; it’s also part of Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. We reviewed it here.
