Destiny 2 Shadowkeep Riskrunner Guide: Get that Exotic SMG

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep will offer a host of new Exotics; chief among them is the amazing Riskrunner, an Exotic Submachine Gun. This guide details how to get it.

First, head on over to the Tower and speak for Banshee-44. He’ll ofer up the Pain and Gain Quest to complete.

Pain and Gain Quest

To complete Pain and Gain, you’ll need to do the following:

  • Complete a Lost Sector in the EDZ
  • Complete a Heroic Public Event
  • Complete a Nightfall Strike

You can easily do the first two in the EDZ, while Nightfall’s are easier with friends. You can matchmake in the lowest difficulty of Nightfall: The Ordeal.

Upon completeing the quest, you’ll get Risk/Reward.

Risk/Reward Quest

This is actually a mission that’ll take you back to the Cosmodrome. At the first spawn point, take down enemies and Fallen Walkers until you’ve met all requirements. Then, you’ll head inside and be tasked with some platforming before coming upon a secret Cayde stash.

Head to the back of the room and the Riskrunner is yours. Next, you’ll get the chance to test your new weapon out against a horde of Fallen enemies.

Riskrunner Exotic SMG

The Riskrunner comes with the Arc Conductor intrinsic perk, which increases weapon power and Arc resistance when taking Arc damage. It also has the Superconductor perk, which can chain lightning between enemies and return ammo as you fire founds with Arc Conductor active.

Work better off a video? Easy.

Destiny 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
