Dead Space infinite money glitch revolves around Pulse Rifle

And a clever little trick.

Dead Space is out now and, in addition to our fabulous set of guides, Polygon has discovered a way for infinite money.

Why would infinite money be worthwhile? EASY. You can buy tons of useful items with it, including nodes to upgrade your ammo and RIG, or more importantly, useful resources like health, oxygen and stasis energy. Those latter items could mean the difference in a big encounter.

The glitch requires a player to upgrade the Pulse Rifle, get some free ammo from it, then use the Pulse Rifle’s secondary fire mode to plant and deactivate mines. Once those mines are collected, the ammo can be sold for cash. Head back to a bench, reset your nodes (for 5,000), then upgrade ammo capacity for more free ammo to sell, and then rinse and repeat.

Here’s the glitch, step-by-step.

  1. Start with a Pulse Rifle without any nodes placed into it (you can Reset All for 5,000 credits if you’ve already upgraded it)
  2. Upgrade the first node: capacity
  3. Hit RB so many times to shoot a mine, deactivate it, and then rinse and repeat until your ammo is exhausted
  4. Repeat steps 2-3 until no CAP nodes are left
  5. Sell all the ammo at a Store for profit
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 as desired

Pretty smart, eh?
