Seriously: Is your TV randomly being turned on overnight by your console?

For the past week, I’ve woken up in the morning to find my living room TV on, but nothing else.

Every. Single. Morning.

The Xbox One isn’t on when I notice the TV. Nor is the PS4. The Wii U, plugged into the Xbox’s “HDMI In” port, is off when I check too.

I can’t figure it out.

As it started to happen around the same time crazy Xbox One update problems started to be reported, I assumed it was simply a side effect. Now, I don’t think it is.

I’ve tried various things with my Xbox One this week. Leaving it in normal standby mode. Doing a full, hold-down-that-power-button kill. Unplugging the thing. Yet every morning, the TV’s on, awaiting my surprise.

Tonight, I’m turning the PS4 off at the power plug. Think the TV will be on?

Seriously, guys and gals, I’m stumped: both my current-gen consoles can power on my TV. Each night, I turn off my Xbox One before bed, and my TV and sound system turn off too. Overnight, something changes. Which console is the culprit? Have you had the same issues this week?

Seriously is a new feature that lets us pose hard-hitting (or not) questions to you, our readers. Help us out!
