In-depth at E3: Halo 5’s unnamed Spartan is Agent Locke, who’s backstory will be revealed in Halo: Nightfall

Halo 5: Guardians‘ mysterious Spartan has been named: Agent Locke. The character will be the main focus of Ridley Scott’s Halo: Nightfall episodic series, viewable by purchasign Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

343 Industries studio head Bonnie Ross joked at a Halo information session attended by Stevivor today that the audio must have been horrible at Xbox’s E3 Media Briefing this year. “People thought he was called Agent Clarke, or Agent Scott,” she said, “but it’s Locke.”

Locke features predominately in Halo 5‘s cover art and will play “a key role in Halo 5: Guardians,” according to Ross.

“We’re using Halo: Nightfall to tell Locke’s backstory and tell his origin story,” Ross divulged. “You don’t have to watch it, but it’ll make Halo 5: Guardians even better.”

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be available this holiday season, and Halo 5: Guardians at holiday 2015. A beta for Halo 5: Guardians will also be included alongside The Master Chief Collection and the Halo: Nightfall series.
