Nintendo Switch amiibo reader guide: All locations

The Nintendo Switch is less than a week old, and players are still learning its particulars.

Today, we demonstrate where the amiibo NFC reader is located on the Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Cons and Pro Controller. With this knowledge you can scan amiibo and grab in-game goodies in titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Joy-Cons

Only the right-hand Joy-Con has an amiibo NFC reader. It’s on top of the right joystick.

Pro Controller

The Pro Controller’s amiibo NFC reader is on top of the controller, right at the Switch logo.
