The first week of the Stevivor Game of the Year (GOTY) 2025 awards program comes to a close with a focus on the best multiplayer game of this year.
Stevivor staffers threw a number of votes in a bunch of directions, ultimately awarding this year’s honour to none other than Battlefield 6.
Hamish may (or may not — we’re not actually telling you) have been one staff writer that didn’t throw votes Battlefield 6‘s way. In his 7.5/10 review, he said,” Battlefield 6 does enough, but… fails to retake the top step through its own power; it’s not as forgettable as other recent entries in the series, but it could have been so much more.”
Coming in second and third, respectively, were Nintendo’s Mario Kart World and The Coalition’s Gears of War Reloaded.
Our Game of the Year 2025 awards program continues next week, right on until the end of the year. We’ll start next week with honours for Best Ongoing Game of the Year.
