Zelda: Breath of the Wild can be beaten without finishing its story

Zelda series head Eiji Aonuma recently confirmed that players can start up The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and head straight to the game’s final boss.

“Users may not actually get the full story depending on how they play this game and how they strategise and solve puzzles,” Aonuma said to Polygon, confirming that players are “able to go to the very end goal without revealing why Link woke up the way he did and where he did.”

He’s not mincing words, either. Like, right to the end.

“Anybody who can go straight to the goal without doing anything else,” Aonuma added, saying that those individuals are either “really good” or “a little crazy.”

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released for Wii U and NX in March 2017. Nintendo has confirmed that the game will be the same across both platforms, so there’s no need to grab both.
