Yakuza Like a Dragon release date moved up, PS5 version due March 2021

The Yakuza Like a Dragon release date on Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X and PS4 has been moved up to the Xbox Series launch date itself, with Sega also confirming PS5 availability from March 2021.

“As previously revealed, the Xbox Series X | S version will offer a Smart Delivery upgrade path for Xbox One owners of the game,” Sega advised, also confirming that “Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be launching on PlayStation 5 in the West on 2nd March 2021.”

While the Xbox version of the game supports Xbox Smart Delivery, meaning that game saves and the like will transition between Xbox One and Xbox Series S & X, the same isn’t true for PS4 and PS5. The game will be offered as a free upgrade to those who purchase it, but game saves will be specific to each generation, meaning you’ll need to start Like a Dragon over from scratch on next-gen.

Yakuza Like a Dragon heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PS4 from 10 November. A PS5 release follows on 2 March 2021.
