Yakuza Kiwami 2 heads to PS4 in August

Yakuza Kiwami 2 will head to western PS4s in August, Sega today announced.

Pretty much a year after the western release of Yakuza Kiwami, the sequel is schedule for a 28 August release in Australia. The release will also bundle the game with a custom steelbook that depicts Kiryu and his rival, Ryuji Goda.

Kiwami 2 is a recreation of the original Yakuza 2 that takes advantage of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life‘s new Dragon Engine.

Sega promised “extreme localization” in a press release, adding, “We’ve gone through the Yakuza Kiwami 2 script with a fine-toothed comb; every effort has been made to ensure that it’s the most faithful representation of the original Japanese. Sega is committed to supporting the best Yakuza experience possible for the series’ dedicated fans around the world.”
