World of Warcraft: Vanilla, legacy servers go back online later this month

Elysium, the project that’s enabled private, vanilla World of Warcraft servers, is back online.

Anyone who was previously playing on a Elysium-backed Nostalrius server can continue from where they’ve left off or choose to start again with a fresh character. The servers will begin operation on 17 December.

The servers aren’t sanctioned by Blizzard, but the publisher did say it was keen to work on pre-Cataclysm servers itself. As a result, it’s unclear how long Elysium will be able to continue.

Best get in while you can.
