World of Warcraft: “Legion”: Player numbers so good, Blizzard’s happy to talk about ’em again

Blizzard has commented on World of Warcraft player numbers for the first time since November 2015.

“Legion”, the game’s newest expansion, has told more than 3.3 million copies since launch, the publisher detailed today.

Player numbers as of November 2015, the last time Blizzard chose to report on that statistic, were at around 5.5 million users.

“It’s been a thrill to see players hunting demons, powering up Artifacts, and freely exploring all the new zones in Legion,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We worked hard to make this the best World of Warcraft expansion yet, and we look forward to providing players with even more content as Legion’s epic story unfolds in the months ahead.”
