The Witcher 3 next-gen version coming, free for existing owners

The Witcher 3 next-gen version has been confirmed by CD Projekt Red for PC, Xbox Series X and PS5, free to those who currently own the game on Xbox One or PS4.

“Developed to take advantage of powerful video-game hardware, the next generation edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5 will feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content,” the developer said in an announcement overnight.

A release date for the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt wasn’t detailed; the current-gen version is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch.
