Warner Bros has shut down Rooster Teeth, but RWBY could live on in MultiVersus

Yay?

Hot on the heels of Warner Bros’ closure of Rooster Teeth, dataminers have uncovered evidence that Rooster Teeth’s animated RWBY could live on in a small way thanks to MultiVersus.

Dataminer ausil has posted strings in MultiVersus‘ code directly related to RWBY protagonist Ruby Rose, who has been voiced by Lindsay Jones in the past.

No official confirmation of the character has been made by Warner Bros or developer Player First Games, though RWBY is no stranger to crossovers, already appearing alongside another Warner Bros property, DC’s Justice League.

RWBY Volume 9 is the animated series latest installment, though former Rooster Teeth employee Geoff Yetter has said in the past that “[the team has] already hammered out the overview for volume 10, with more writing expected soon.”

Rooster Teeth’s closure has obviously dampened the likelihood of RWBY Volume 10

“While this is the end of Rooster Teeth, we hope it’s the beginning of the next generation of online entertainment and creators. We hope more than anything that we’ve inspired you, and to someday see you beat our 21-year run with your own Rooster Teeth. Hopefully you can come up with a better name, though,” reads a statement on the shuttered studio’s website.

“Thank you for one hell of a ride. We’ll always remember yesterday.”

MultiVersus is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, and PS5.
