Wargaming restores Soviet KV-1 World War II tank

Wargaming’s deep pockets know no bounds, this time funding the restoration of an iconic Soviet tank.

After fragments of the Soviet World War II KV-1 tank were salvaged from a bog in Belarus’ Vitebsk region, Wargaming took to work restoring the vehicle.

You can check out the restoration in the following video:

The restored tank now resides within The Historical and Cultural Complex “Stalin Line” museum and will also participate in historical reenactments.

“The project was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of when Zinoviy Kolobanov and his crew put 22 German tanks out of commission during the Battle of Krasnogvardeysk,” Wargaming advised. “His feat is also remembered in World of Tanks with the special Kolobanov’s medal. The restored KV-1 has now become part of the museum’s vehicle collection and will participate in historical reenactments.”

Earlier in the year, Wargaming did the same to an Australian AC-1 Sentinel tank, donating the vehicle to a museum in Cairns.
