Wargaming aiming for Guinness World Record this weekend

Wargaming will attempt a Guinness World Record attempt this weekend during the Arnold Pro Strongman Australia event in Melbourne, the publisher recently confirmed.

Eddie Williams, an Australian strongman (pictured above), will attempt to pull an eight tonne FV102 Striker tank 10 metres during the event, looking to set the world’s fastest time doing so.

The stunt is in celebration of World of Tanks’ 1.0 update, the title’s largest addition in its seven years.

“With the completely remastered PC game, World of Tanks 1.0, set to launch soon, we wanted our 160 million players and new fans to get hyped up about this massive game update,”Alexander de Giorgio, World of Tanks’ Regional Publishing Director, said. “Nothing is bigger than going for a tank pull Guinness World Records title!

“We’re calling on all Australians and New Zealanders to get behind the strongman attempting the world record and witness the true power of man versus tank.”

The record attempt will be the fourth event in the Arnold Pro Strongman Australia professional strongman competition, which begins 12.00 pm AEDT on 17 March at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre. The event will also be livestreamed here.

World of Tanks is available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. The 1.0 update is expected sometime this month.
