Voice actor of Peach, Toad found out she’d lost the job with Mario Kart World

Nintendo allegedly informed her the day of the Switch 2's release.

Long-time voice actor behind the roles of Princess Peach and Toad, Samantha Kelly, said she was told Nintendo had recast the roles on the same day Mario Kart World was released.

Kelly, who began voicing Princess Peach back in 2007’s Mario Strikers Charged, has voiced the character since, including last year’s Princess Peach Showtime.

“Thank you for so many years of friendship and joy. I’m sad that it’s over, I truly would have wanted to voice Peach and Toad forever. Nintendo let me know yesterday that they decided to recast these roles,” Kelly wrote on Instagram.

“I’m grateful that I got to do these voices for so many years. Peach and Toad are such strong and beautiful characters that I pray they live forever no matter who voices them. So much love.”

Nintendo has also recently recast the voice of Mario, Charles Martinet, with voice actor Kevin Afghani assuming the role since Mario Bros Wonder.
