Video World is a Melbourne-made synth-pop Halloween musical

Coming to PC and Mac in January 2021.

Video World is a Melbourne-made synth-pop Halloween musical coming from Things for Humans and featuring songs from Monster Mansion.

Jacob Leaney is the brains behind the project, the musician behind Monster Mansion and the Creative Director of developer Things for Humans. The games studio has worked on a handful of projects including Relax and Human Rights, an interactive game-slash-song written in response to Australia’s same-sex marriage plebiscite back in 2017.

Video World is a short experience that will feature three new original songs, also serving as a prequel to a larger project that’s in development titled I Love You, Tokyo. Priced at $1.49 AUD, it’s set in a video store of old (remember those?) and offers rhythm-based gameplay (with accessibility options) alongside “a spooky amount of puns”.

An exact release date hasn’t been named as yet, but we’ll keep you informed as we learn more. You can wishlist the game on Steam right here.

Video World is playable on PC and Mac, via Steam, and is scheduled for a January 2021 release.
