Venue problems mean Melbourne’s Beta Bar is closing up shop

The owners of Melbourne’s gaming-themed Beta Bar have advised that they’ll be closing up shop — at least temporarily — due to problems at the two venues the event is held at.

Beta Bar said that “the decision [to terminate events] at La La Land came from the higher ups” and a “problem with the lease agreement at Portland means that they must begin to demolish and renovate the entire upstairs where Beta Bar is held by the 22nd [of June]”.

“As it stands the Marvel VS DC event this Friday will be our last Beta Bar at the Portland Hotel for the foreseeable future as there’s a possibility the venue will no longer be a function space once they’re done renovating,” the owners continued.

We’ll keep you in the loop as we learn more of Beta Bar’s future.
