Valve to “deliver” unedited copies of Left 4 Dead 2 to those who’ve purchased Australia’s edited version

Kotaku Australia has confirmed with Valve that those who’ve purchased edited copies of Left 4 Dead 2 will have the game’s original, unedited version delivered to them in some form.

The news comes after the original version of Left 4 Dead 2 was classified R18+ by the Australian Classification Board.

“We are delighted that the full version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be available to fans age 18+ in Australia,” Valve’s Doug Lombardi said to Kotaku. “We are making plans to deliver that version to those who have already purchased the game. We will announce more details on that soon.”

As you’d expect, there’s no word yet on whether or not this applies to all platforms, nor how Valve will ensure copies belonging to only 18+ gamers will be updated, nor if this delivery will be free.

We’ll let you know when that information becomes available.
