Upcoming STALKER 2 patch contains many bug fixes

Deja vu?

In more “released games that are being fixed with post-launch patches” news, an upcoming STALKER 2 patch aims to do just that.

“The game has been out for several days now (it’s still surreal to say that), and we’ve been following your feedback in all possible forms carefully,” GSC Game World said on Steam. “To the more than one million stalkers in the Zone, thanks for playing — that means the world to us.”

An upcoming patch will contain crash fixes, main quest progression fixes, balancing, and visual fixes. While a Day 0 patch has already addressed some of reviewer Hamish’s concerns, it appears this patch will only add to that.

“The fact that STALKER 2 is complete and ready for an imminent release is nothing short of a miracle,” Hamish wrote ahead of any patches. “A full 12 years after it was originally due, this honours the legacy of its predecessors and continues to build on the gameplay loop of those much-loved entries that came before. It’s just a shame that my experience with this release is currently — and seriously — damaged by a constant stream of ever-present bugs and issues.”

Update: Hamish has liked what he’s seen so far, and we’ve upped our provisional review to a final one. You can read it all above.

STALKER 2 is available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X.
