Ubisoft UK Collector’s Editions will swap discs for digital codes on Xbox

Ubisoft UK Collector’s Editions for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6 and Watch Dogs Legion on Xbox will swap digital codes in place of physical discs, the publisher recently confirmed.

“Pre-orders… for Xbox will receive a digital key to redeem, instead of a physical disc,” an update on an Ubisoft support page reads. “Collector’s Editions for PlayStation will receive physical game discs.

“The remaining content of your Collector’s Edition will still arrive through the post as normal.”

We’re imagining it’s far easier to send out digital codes with Xbox Smart Delivery in mind, but Ubisoft didn’t formally explain the change up. We’ve asked Ubisoft Australia if a similar tactic will be employed locally.

Watch Dogs Legion heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Stadia where available on 29 October, and Xbox Series X and PS5 when the next-gen consoles become available.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be available on Windows PC via Uplay & Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Stadia where available from 17 November.

Far Cry 6 heads to Windows PC via Uplay & Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Stadia where available on 18 February 2021.
