Ubisoft reportedly lays off 105 employees at Red Storm Entertainment

The studio will remain open, but it won't be developing its own games.

Ubisoft has laid off 105 employees at Star Trek Bridge Crew developer Red Storm Entertainment, according to a new report from Games Industry.

Formed in 1996, Red Storm Entertainment also developed titles including Werewolves Within, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR and a host of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon titles. It’s also had a number of upcoming titles cancelled of late, including a Splinter Cell VR title and Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland.

According to Games Industry, 105 employees have been laid off as part of Ubisoft’s ongoing restructuring, and have been offered support and severance packages as part of the process.

Back in January, Ubisoft announced the cancellation of six games, the delay of seven more, a restructure across its studios into five main creative houses. Layoffs at Ubisoft Toronto followed in February.

Ubisoft has yet to comment on the matter.
