Ubisoft finally confirms Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Ubisoft opened its E3 2017 press conference with confirmation of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

Finally.

“We always wondered what would happen if our crazy Rabbids were unleashed upon the world of Mario,” Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said before bringing Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto to the conference stage.

“Don’t try to make a jump game… try to make a Mario game that’s never been done before,” Miyamoto said via translator.

The title’s producer called the game a “tactical adventure.” The Rabbids inclusion in the Mushroom Kingdom have made it unstable, and it’s up to Mario and friends to fix the situation. In the video above, you can see the game switching between exploration and battle modes.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle heads to the Nintendo Switch on 29 August. Those who pre-order will receive the game’s “Pixel Pack” a collection of 8 in-game weapons.
