Ubisoft confirms the current-gen only Assassin’s Creed: Unity

Ubisoft confirmed Assassin’s Creed: Unity over the weekend, confirming rumours from earlier in the week.

Unity is indeed set in Paris as reports stated, and is in development for current-gen and PC.

“We have been working on the new Assassin’s Creed for more than three years, and wanted to find the perfect time to give you an early taste of the game,” Ubisoft said in a statement. “Apparently though, the Templar Order was hungry to know more right now. To this, we say “Qu’ils mangent de la brioche!” (“Let them eat cake!”).”

A second rumoured Assassin’s Creed game — one more focused for last-gen systems Xbox 360 and PS3 — has yet to be confirmed by Ubisoft.

Expect Assassin’s Creed: Unity sometime in 2014 on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
