Twitch pulls the plug on Justin.tv

Twitch today confirmed they’ve shut down Justin.tv, ending the streaming services seven-year run.

Videos on Justin.tv are no longer viewable. Anyone with a premium account for the service will be contacted shortly about a refund.

“We are immensely proud of Justin.tv’s legacy. Not only is it the birthplace of Twitch, but it was the pioneer of live video on the Internet,” Twitch COO Kevin Lin said. “It holds a special place in our hearts, as well as a special place in the history of the Internet, and will be missed.”

Twitch made the move to push resources to its video game streaming efforts.
