Twitch Prime members can gift free games to mates right now

Not only can Twitch Prime subscribers redeem their free games for the month, they can also gift a copy to a friend, regardless of that person’s Twitch Prime subscription status.

Twitch Prime subscribers can head to the Prime Loot page to see which games can be gifted to friends. A “Send as a Gift” button will appear beside the normal “Claim” button that you should be used to seeing.

Available games at the time of writing including Hacknet, Poi, Smoke and Sacrifice and SNK Bundle.

“Your recipient will be notified of the gifted game via both an email and a push notification and they can claim it from the Prime Loot page,” Twitch detailed. “Your chosen recipient doesn’t have to link an Amazon account with Twitch in order to claim the gift.”

The only condition is that your friend will need to redeem the free game while it’s still active in the Games with Prime promotion.

Ideally, those with Prime will identify friends without and gift them free games — after all, if you’ve got a Prime subscription, you’ll already have access to those titles. Still, it’s a neat promotion and one we hope players take up!
