TopSpin 2K25 revives the dormant tennis franchise

TopSpin 2K25 was today unveiled as part of the Australian Open 2024, finally reviving the long dormant tennis franchise.

A teaser for the title was unveiled alongside the news, though information including a release date and gameplay features are still being kept under lock and key.

“We’re excited to unveil TopSpin 2K25 with 2K during the Australian Open,” said Cedric Cornelis, Chief Commercial Officer at Tennis Australia.

“The return of this franchise, with 2K’s prowess in game development, supports Tennis Australia’s objective of making The Australian Open the world’s most accessible sports and entertainment event, inviting fans from all corners of the globe to engage with the excitement year-round,” Cornelis continued.”

This news — and partnership between 2K and Tennis Australia — comes as local developer Big Ant announced that its upcoming tennis title Tiebreak has been delayed until later this month.

“Not only will Tiebreak include both the ATP and WTA, it will have more stadiums, more tournaments, more competitions, and more licensed players than any tennis game before it,” Big Ant proclaimed.

We’ll have more on both tennis titles as information becomes available. Until then, what do you think of both TopSpin 2K25 and Tiebreak?
