Titans casts Joshua Orpin as Superboy

Warner Bros. Television has announced that it is has Joshua Orpin as Superboy in Titans second season.

Orpin will play Superboy as a series regular for the DC Universe original’s second season and is known for his role in the movie The Neon Spectrum.

Those who’ve watched Titans’ first season — and spoilers ahead of you haven’t — know that Superboy was teased during the post-credits roll of the show’s final episode. Superboy, or rather Subject 13 as he is known at Cadmus, was shown breaking free from the complex alongside a dog who’s likely Krypto, the Dog of Steel.

This iteration of Superboy, also known by his secret identities Kon-El and Connor Kent, is likely based off character created in 1993 by Karl Kessel and Tom Grummett. That Superboy began life as one of the four Superman stand-ins following the iconic character’s death at the hands of Doomsday. It was eventually revealed that Connor was created using DNA from both Superman and his arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor.

We’ll have more on Titans as it becomes available. The show airs first on DC Universe, though Australians now have access to it on Netflix.
