The Witcher 4 will star Ciri as its protagonist

Yes, please.

We’ve finally gotten our first proper look at The Witcher 4, which also confirms that none other than Ciri as its protagonist.

The sequence we were treated to, now available below, was rendered in Unreal Engine 5. According to CD Projekt Red, “it aims to be the most immersive and ambitious open-world Witcher game to date.”

The Witcher IV is an upcoming single-player open-world RPG from CD PROJEKT RED, the creators of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” its developer said.

“The beginning of a new saga, and a follow-up to one of the most acclaimed RPGs of all time, Ciri takes center stage as the protagonist, embarking on her own journey to become a professional monster slayer.”

“We’re kicking off a brand-new Witcher saga, this time with Ciri as the heart of the story,” said game director, Sebastian Kalemba.

““It feels so good to finally be able to say those words — for the longest time we knew that we wanted Ciri to be the protagonist of The Witcher IV; it just felt natural to us and we believe that Ciri deserves it,” Kalemba continued. “In this game we want to explore what it means to truly become a witcher by following Ciri on her Path. This trailer is a taste of both that, and just how dark and grounded the world of The Witcher can be.”
