The video game industry has its first report of “fake news” thanks to For Honor

The video game industry has its first bona fide claim of “fake news”, thanks to For Honor Community Manager, Eric Pope.

Pope took to the Warrior’s Den livestream to call reports of a declining user base “fake news”, as you can watch below:

Stream statistics have shown that For Honor‘s user base dropped considerably after launch; last month, the game lost 95% of its remaining players.

The statistics should be taken with a grain of salt — the title is a Uplay game, after all — but nevertheless, here we are.

“Believe it or not — fake news, people, Pope said of the statistics. “We have a lot of players in For Honor.

Ubisoft has yet to report on Uplay numbers or those on Xbox One or PS4.

For Honor is available now.
