The Three Thousands is a new studio from ex-EA mobile devs

And they're working on racing games.

The Three Thousands is the name of a new Melbourne-based studio comprised of former EA mobile developers, and planning to make racing games.

The studio is helmed by Joseph Donoghue (former EA Australia general manager), Nikhil Kurian (former EA Melbourne racing manager), and Benjamin Dawe (former EA Melbourne creative director). The trio have previously worked on EA titles including Real Racing, Need for Speed No Limits, and The Sims Freeplay.

“The studio’s founders have extensive experience designing and developing critically acclaimed titles that have captivated gamers worldwide,” reads a press release. “With this new studio, they have their sights on developing genre-defining racing titles.”

The Three Thousands’ name has come from Melbourne’s CBD postcode: 3000.

“Our goal with The Three Thousands is to become the ultimate Digital Automotive Brand, blending racing, culture, and entertainment in a way no one has done before,” said Donoghue. “We’ve assembled a core team that are truly best in class at what they do to help deliver against the vision and we couldn’t be happier with the results.”

We’ll let you know exactly what The Three Thousands is up to when they’re ready to detail it.
