The (Stick of) Truth is, we’re probably not getting South Park DLC

Obsidian, developer of South Park: The Stick of Truth, said that while DLC is possible for the game, it’s probably not likely.

Speaking with Polygon, Obsidian head Feargus Urquhart said he thinks Ubisoft is “done” with South Park: The Stick of Truth, though story-based DLC could be produced.

“I don’t know what [the DLC] could be,” Urquhart said. “We had always talked about it, extending the story through DLC, it was just stuff on paper, but it never went beyond talking about it.

“That was when THQ was involved. When it moved to Ubisoft, there was more pressure to get [the game] done. I think that became the priority, so we got it done.”

The game’s publishing duties moved from Viacom to THQ, and then from THQ to Ubisoft over its lifetime.

“The South Park team did an immense amount of work on the game,” said Urquhart. “After all of the stress of the game getting done and changing publishers, I think everyone sort of needed a hug.”

Obsidian’s next title, Pillars of Eternity, is out this month.
