The Sinking City Remastered out now, free to original owners

Ahead of The Sinking City 2.

The Sinking City Remastered has surprised dropped on PC and consoles, free to those who own the original Sinking City.

The release is the culmination of a flurry of news surrounding The Sinking City and developer (now publisher) Frogwares, following a lengthy legal battle between Frogwares and former publisher Nexon.

The title has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, offers 4K textures, improved reflections, support for DLSS, FSR, and TSR upscaling, and “various gameplay adjustments”.

Available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5, it “has been made free to all existing owners of the game,” Frogwares confirmed.

“We plan to do big things with The Sinking City IP, starting with the sequel and then beyond,” Frogwares’ Sergiy Oganesyan said. “So, after our rather well-known struggles with the original, it feels amazing to have this positive moment be part of the game’s twisted history and for us to be the ones to fully decide it. Making it free to all our existing fans is our way of giving back to them for having supported us all this time through thick and thin.”

The studio is hard at work on The Sinking City 2.
