The Outer Worlds gets current-gen upgrade on 7 March (at a cost)

Yay?

The Outer Worlds will offer up a current-gen upgrade, though it’s at a cost.

Those who already own Obsidian’s RPG on Xbox One, PS4 or Windows PC via Steam will be able to upgrade to the Xbox Series, PS5 and PC version for $12 AUD; The Outer Worlds Spacer’s Choice Edition is also available as a standalone purchase of $89.95 AUD for new players.

According to a press release, the upgrade offers “higher resolution graphics, a dynamic weather system, overhauled lighting and environments, improved performance and load times, enhanced details on characters, an increased level cap, and much more await spacers who bravely and boldly carve their path through the conspiratorial Halcyon colony.”

What do you make of the charge for current-gen goodies? Sound off in the comments area, below.

The Outer Worlds is out now on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch. It heads to Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PS5 on 7 March.
