The Oculus Rift goes up for pre-order this week

The time has finally arrived: the Oculus Rift will be available for pre-order from 7 January.

From 3.00 am AEDT, you’ll be able to pre-order an Oculus Rift, complete with Lucky’s Tale and EVE: Valkyrie.

You’ll need a computer with the following specs to support the Rift:

  • NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater
  • Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
  • 8GB+ RAM
  • Windows 7 SP1 or newer
  • 2x USB 3.0 ports
  • HDMI 1.3 video output supporting a 297MHz clock via a direct output architecture
